About the design:
Ngintaka (Perentie)
Willie’s painting depicts his country in remote north western South Australia on the APY Lands. It is a Tjukurpa (Creation) story. The ngintaka (perentie) is a large monitor lizard that lives in burrows under the ground. They are an important Totemic animal for Anangu people. The vibrant palette and bright colors are inspired by the strong colors of the desert.
