Kakalyalya – Sulphur Crested Cockatoos
About the design: Karen’s representation of this pair of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos reflects her passion for the wildlife around her home country, Yuendumu. Cockatoos are native to the Tanami Desert, where Yuendumu is located, and are one of the birds that Karen loves to paint. Her observation of birds is reflected in her intuitive representation of them. Karen is a bird lover, she takes their colour and life and records it on canvas.
